The World Huang Clan Association has officially announced its 2024 Global Conference, scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This landmark event will bring together Huang (黄) families from over 30 countries to celebrate shared heritage, discuss genealogical research developments, and strengthen cross-cultural connections.
The conference will feature presentations on recent advances in DNA-based genealogy, workshops on traditional Chinese family record-keeping, and panel discussions with historians specialising in Huang clan history. A dedicated youth programme will engage younger family members through interactive cultural activities and storytelling sessions.
Key topics on the agenda include the digitisation of historic Jiapu (family registers), the expansion of the Global Huang DNA Project, and strategies for preserving intangible cultural heritage across diaspora communities. Delegates from mainland China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe are expected to attend.
Registration opens in March 2024 through the World Huang Clan Association website. Early-bird pricing is available for families registering multiple members.
