The Taiwan Huang Clan Association (台湾黄氏宗亲会) celebrated its 50th anniversary with a grand ceremony at the Taipei International Convention Centre, drawing over 1,500 members and distinguished guests.
Founded in 1973, the association has served as the primary organisation for Huang families in Taiwan, maintaining genealogical records, supporting cultural preservation activities, and facilitating connections between Taiwanese Huang families and their counterparts in mainland China and Southeast Asia.
The anniversary celebration featured speeches by association leaders, cultural performances including traditional Hakka and Minnan music, and the launch of a commemorative publication documenting the association's five decades of activities. A special exhibition showcased the evolution of Huang family life in Taiwan from the early colonial period through the present day.
During the ceremony, the association announced several new initiatives, including a youth mentorship programme pairing young professionals with experienced business leaders, a scholarship fund for Huang family students pursuing higher education, and a digital archive project to preserve and share historical documents related to Huang families in Taiwan.
