This year's Qingming (清明) ancestral ceremony at the Jiangxia Ancestral Hall in Wuhan drew record attendance, with over 3,000 Huang family members travelling from across China and overseas to pay respects to their shared ancestors.

The annual ceremony, held on April 5th to coincide with the traditional Qingming Festival, is the most important gathering for Huang families who trace their lineage to the Jiangxia tradition. This year's attendance represented a 40% increase over the previous year, reflecting growing interest in ancestral heritage among younger generations.

The ceremony included traditional rituals such as the offering of incense, the recitation of generation poems, and a communal meal. Cultural performances featured music and dance rooted in Hubei Province's heritage traditions. A newly introduced element was a digital memorial wall where overseas Huang family members unable to attend in person could submit virtual tributes.

Organisers attributed the record attendance partly to the completion of the Jiangxia Ancestral Hall restoration project, which has made the site more accessible and attractive to visitors. The Huang clan association has already begun planning for next year's ceremony, with discussions underway to expand the event programme.
