A new museum dedicated exclusively to Huang (黄) family history and culture has opened its doors in Foshan, Guangdong Province. The Huang Heritage Museum spans 3,000 square metres and houses over 2,000 artefacts, documents, and interactive exhibits tracing the Huang surname from its origins in ancient China through to the present day.

The museum's permanent collection includes rare Jiapu (family registers) dating back to the Song Dynasty, ceremonial objects used in ancestral worship, and personal effects of notable Huang family members throughout history. A dedicated wing focuses on the Guangdong Huang diaspora, documenting the migration of Huang families from the Pearl River Delta to Southeast Asia, North America, and beyond.

Interactive exhibits allow visitors to explore digital versions of historical documents, listen to oral history recordings from Huang elders, and trace migration routes using touchscreen maps. A genealogy research centre on the premises provides access to digitised records and offers workshops on family history research methods.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and offers guided tours in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. Admission is free for Huang family members who present identification.
